Extremity Conditions

What are Extremity Conditions?

Extremity conditions are issues that occur in the extremities, meaning the hands, arms, legs, feet, and hips. Generally, these conditions cause pain, numbness, or tingling in the affected area.

What Causes Extremity Conditions?

Various reasons exist for extremity conditions. For instance, the numbness or tingling may have resulted from an injury or from wear and tear. Diabetes is notorious for causing issues with the nerves. In extremely rare cases, the brain or spinal cord may be at fault. For instance, the brain or spinal cord may not properly transmit signals. Other possibilities include Lyme disease, Guillain-Barre disease, or Multiple Sclerosis, just to name a few.

How Are Extremity Conditions Treated?

The process begins with the chiropractor gathering information from the patient to establish a complete medical history. The patient is then examined, so the chiropractor may look for any swelling or external signs of a problem. The doctor will then determine what the underlying cause of the problem is and what treatment may be necessary.
